Day 1
Fly to Reykjavik. Transfer from Keflavik to your hotel in Reykjavik. Spend the evening and night in Reykjavik.

We leave Reykjavik and drive to the Lodge. Fishing on the same day between 16:00 and 22:00.

Two full days of fishing

Fishing between 08:00-12:00. Lunch at the Lodge and then transfer to Keflavik for an afternoon flight home.

The salmon season in Stóra Laxá runs from June to September. Our hosted trip with Oskar Wignäs will take place from August 7–11, 2027.

Yes. In addition to our hosted trips, we can tailor trips to Stóra Laxá. Fishing is normally sold in periods of three fishing days and it is possible to combine fishing on both Lower and Upper. Contact us and we will help you with a plan.

Surface fishing is the preferred tactic and a natural part of Icelandic salmon fishing. Throughout the season, it is a fantastic experience to watch large salmon take small dry flies, hitch flies, and Sunray Shadow right on the surface.

Do I need to be an experienced salmon angler?
No. The trip is suitable for both those going on their first salmon trip and those who have fished Atlantic salmon before. Local guides and Oskar Wignäs will be on-site during the trip to assist with the fishing.

How large is the group?
We are a smaller group of 5–6 anglers plus Oskar Wignäs as host. This makes for a personal trip with plenty of time for assistance from both Oskar and the local guides.
