At Loppa Havsfiske, there is plenty of large halibut just a stone's throw from the camp. In addition to halibut, you can also fish for spawning cod, large summer cod, pollock, redfish, plaice, and wolfish, making the fishing very varied and suitable for both beginners and experienced sea anglers.

The camp's greatest strength is the variety within short distances. Here you will find shallow areas for spinning for halibut and deeper waters for cod and redfish, all close to the camp. The location in the fjord is relatively sheltered, meaning you rarely get completely wind-bound, and there are almost always fishing grounds available. No matter where you fish, you are surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks rising directly from the sea.

The journey is smooth via flight to, followed by transfer by car and ferry, or by rental car on your own. Regardless of the arrangement, the journey is simple, and the experience on-site is well worth the entire trip.

Here you can also find spawning cod, summer cod, saithe, redfish, plaice, and wolfish. There is a wide variety of species within short distances, with shallow plateaus for spin fishing and deeper waters for cod and redfish. The relatively sheltered fjord location means fishing is rarely cancelled.

Fishing seasons

April: Focus on spawning cod, with a chance of really large fish.

May–August: Stable halibut fishing, good cod and saithe fishing, and good opportunities for redfish.
September–October: One of the best periods for large halibut, often in shallow water and perfect for spin fishing. Also good fishing for plaice.

The camp's largest apartment at 98 sqm, ideal for families or smaller groups. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, TV, Wi-Fi, three bedrooms with a total of six single beds, shower, toilet, and refrigerator.

12-bed house

A spacious house of 160 sqm, perfect for larger parties. The house offers six bedrooms, three bathrooms, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, TV, Wi-Fi, and refrigerator. A very good option for groups who want to stay together throughout their visit.

fish species and bait choice

At Loppa Sea Fishing in Lopphavet, you'll encounter a highly diverse sea fishing experience. The main species is halibut, but you'll also find spawning cod, summer cod, coalfish, large redfish, plaice, wolfish, as well as species like monkfish, ling, pollack, and haddock.

Regarding bait choice, rubber jigs weighing 200–500 g work very well for halibut, cod, and coalfish. For more active fishing, spin fishing with 100–200 g jigs on shallow plateaus is both popular and effective, especially for halibut.

Bait fishing with baitfish is often used for targeted halibut fishing, while a jig is a safe bet for cod and coalfish. When fishing for redfish, rubber lures are the primary choice, and for plaice, simpler bottom rigs are used.

Bait choice and method are easily adapted to depth, weather, and species, and the great variety near the camp means you can always find the right type of fishing.
