Fishing in Sardinia is perfect for those who want to experience truly authentic bass fishing. Here, you fish from stable jon boats equipped to give the whole group the right feeling, just as bass fishing should be experienced. The boats allow you to easily navigate the lake, cast near structures, and fish in the same way as the pros in the USA.

In the lake, you use the techniques that have made black bass fishing so popular worldwide:

Texas rig, dropshot, topwater lures, swimbaits, and other methods that trigger the fish into explosive bites. Black bass are known for their aggressive behavior, acrobatic jumps, and powerful runs—a fighter that delivers adrenaline from the first cast to the last hookset.

The lake is medium-sized with a maximum depth of around 10 meters, but the majority of the fishing takes place in shallow water at 0–5 meters deep. Here, the bass hunts along rocky structures, shoals, fallen trees, and in sheltered bays.

In terms of size, many fish are between 0.5 and 2 kilos, but every year several fish over both 2 and 3kg are caught.

When you travel with us, everything is arranged: flights, accommodation, food, transportation, and fishing arrangements. You can focus entirely on the experience and enjoy a trip where bass fishing, nature, and Italian quality of life meet in the best possible way.

Fishing in Sardinia

Bass fishing in Sardinia is both fast-paced and varied, and the entire setup is designed to give you a genuine "bass fishing experience" similar to what you see in the USA and Japan. You fish from stable jon boats with electric motors, perfectly adapted for sneaking along edges, rock structures, shallows, and sunken trees where black bass often hunt.

Here you use classic bass methods such as Texas rig, dropshot, swimbaits, poppers, and other topwater lures. Black bass are known for being aggressive, explosive, and acrobatic. It's an action-packed fishery, perfect for those who want to experience fun fishing.

The Fishing Season in Sardinia

April

April marks the start of the really good bass season. The temperature rises, the fish become more active and are in shallow water to hunt.

June

Summer offers really active fishing as the water is warm and the bass are in shallow water. Fishing works all day, but the mid-day heat can be intense. Therefore, we prefer to fish morning/late morning and afternoon/evening, while in the middle of the day you can relax by the pool, take a dip in the sea, or explore the local area.

September–October

Autumn is the most comfortable time of the year. The temperature is more pleasant and you can fish effectively from morning to evening. The water is still warm, which makes the bass active and provides excellent conditions for quantity fishing and a chance for larger fish.

Guides and Groups

We welcome groups of 1–5 people, but can of course tailor trips for larger parties. Our local guides know the lake inside out and will help you understand which techniques and lures work best for the day. Here you can book a guide to maximize your fishing.

Accommodation in Sardinia

During your fishing trip to Sardinia, you will stay in a 4-star hotel with exclusive access to the lake, providing both privacy and perfect conditions for excellent bass fishing. The hotel is built in traditional Sardinian style and is beautifully situated with a view over the water, surrounded by tranquil nature and the warm inland climate.

Here you can relax between fishing sessions – perhaps with a dip in the pool and a refreshing drink after a full day on the lake. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with air conditioning, ensuring you get the best possible rest before your next adventure. The accommodation combines local Sardinian charm with modern comfort, making the trip as memorable on land as it is out on the water.

Food & Drink in Sardinia

The food at the hotel is something you'll truly look forward to every day. The restaurant uses ingredients from nearby farms, which is evident in both taste and quality. Breakfast gives you a great start before a day of fishing, you take your packed lunch with you out on the lake, and dinner consists of a varied set menu with classic Sardinian dishes. Here, homemade pasta, fish, cold cuts, meat, cheese, and fresh vegetables are served – simple, authentic food that tastes even better after many hours on the water.

For those who wish, local wines are available to complement the meal. And if you want to experience more of Sardinia's gastronomy, we can arrange visits to wine or food producers in the area, which is always a popular addition to the trip.

fish species and bait choice

Largemouth bass are Sardinia's premier fish and a favorite among anglers thanks to their aggressiveness, strength, and acrobatic jumps. The species was introduced to the island as early as the 19th century and has since developed into a stable population due to the warm climate, abundant baitfish, and plenty of crawfish.

Fishing is visual and fast-paced because bass often stay in shallow waters, from the surface down to about five meters. You'll find them near rocks, fallen trees, coves, and shallows – perfect places to ambush their prey. Strikes are brutal and often followed by fast runs and jumps.

When it comes to lures, classic bass methods work excellently here. Texas rig, dropshot, wacky rig, jigs, and creature baits are obvious choices near structures. For more active fishing, topwater lures, poppers, walk-the-dog, and swimbaits deliver truly exciting strikes. Natural colors are usually best, but crawfish colors in black/blue and purple are particularly effective.

Most fish weigh between 0.5–2 kilograms, but every year bass over both 2 and 3 kilograms are caught, the reasons why Sardinia has become a true bass favorite.
